On this page

This guide walks through using a Keilini Heater Pro safely, based on the seller's own product description and general electric heater safety guidance. We have not tested the unit ourselves, so always follow the printed instructions that come in your box over anything here if the two differ.

Unboxing checks

  • Check the box and unit for any transit damage before plugging in.
  • Look for a rating label on the unit showing voltage, wattage and manufacturer details.
  • Confirm the included manual, and keep it, along with your order confirmation, in case you need it for a warranty claim.
  • Check for a CE or UKCA mark on the unit or packaging.

Check the plug first

Before you plug the heater in, check that it has a correctly fitted, fused UK three-pin plug (BS 1363). We have not independently confirmed the plug type supplied with current Keilini Heater Pro units; a 2023 test of a different Keilini-branded heater by Electrical Safety First found an EU plug fitted with an unfused travel adaptor, which the charity flagged as a fire risk. That finding has not been linked to the current Pro model, but it's worth checking your unit's plug carefully regardless, and contacting the seller if anything looks wrong before you use it.

Setting it up

  1. Choose a flat, stable, non-flammable surface, ideally on a hard floor rather than carpet or a rug.
  2. Position it at least a metre from curtains, bedding, furniture and anything flammable.
  3. Plug it directly into a wall socket rather than an extension lead.
  4. Keep the area around the front and vents clear so air can flow.
  5. Keep children, pets and trailing cables away from the unit.

Using the dial, thermostat and timer

According to the seller's specifications, the Keilini Heater Pro uses a single rotary dial that combines a heat setting with a built-in thermostat, plus a separate 1–12-hour auto shut-off timer and a tip-over switch that's said to cut power if the unit is knocked over. The seller also describes 90° oscillating airflow for wider coverage. These are the seller's claims; we have not tested how the dial feels, how accurate the thermostat is, or how reliably the timer or tip-over switch work in practice.

In general terms, a heater's thermostat dial is usually turned up to heat the room, then turned down gradually until the heater clicks off and on to hold a steady temperature. Follow your printed manual's exact instructions, since wording and dial labelling can vary between production batches.

Placement tips

  • Face it toward open space, not directly at curtains, upholstery or bedding.
  • Avoid bathrooms or anywhere it could get wet or be touched with wet hands, unless the manual specifically states it is rated for that use.
  • Don't run it on a long extension lead or multi-socket adaptor shared with other high-draw appliances.
  • Don't use it to dry clothes or cover it in any way.

Cleaning and storage

  • Always unplug and allow the unit to cool fully before cleaning or moving it.
  • Wipe the outer casing with a dry or barely damp cloth only; keep liquid away from vents and controls.
  • Store it somewhere dry when not in use, ideally in its original box, with the cable loosely coiled rather than tightly wound.
  • Check the cable and plug for damage each time you bring it out of storage.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to try
Won't switch onCheck the socket with another appliance, check the plug fuse, and confirm the dial is turned to an "on" position.
Trips the socket or fuse boxUnplug it and don't keep retrying. Try a different socket once, and if it trips again, stop using it and contact support.
Unusual smellA faint smell on first use from a new heating element can be normal for some heaters, but a burning or plastic smell afterwards is not — unplug it and stop using it.
Timer or thermostat seems inaccurateRe-check the manual's instructions for setting them, and contact the seller's support team if it still doesn't match the described behaviour.

When to stop using it

Stop using the heater immediately and unplug it if you notice scorch marks, melted plastic, a damaged cable or plug, a burning smell, unusual noise, or if the unit has been dropped, exposed to water, or used with a modified plug. Contact support@keiliniheaterpro.co.uk about a possible fault or return, and see our plug-in heater safety checklist for broader guidance.

Frequently asked questions

›

How do I set up the Keilini Heater Pro?

Unbox it, check the plug and rating label, stand it on a flat, stable, non-flammable surface at least a metre from curtains or furniture, then plug it straight into a wall socket. See the setup steps below.

›

How does the thermostat dial work?

The seller describes a rotary dial that combines heat setting and thermostat control. We have not tested this control ourselves; follow the printed manual that comes with your unit, as wording can vary between batches.

›

How long can I leave the timer running?

The seller lists an auto shut-off timer of 1–12 hours. A timer is a convenience feature, not a safety reason to leave a heater unattended or running while you sleep.

›

Can I leave the Keilini Heater Pro on overnight?

We would not recommend leaving any plug-in heater running unattended or overnight. Safety charities advise switching portable heaters off when you leave the room or go to sleep.

›

How do I clean the Keilini Heater Pro?

Unplug it and let it cool fully before cleaning. Wipe the outer casing with a dry or barely damp cloth, and avoid letting any liquid near the vents or controls.

›

What do I do if it stops heating or trips the power?

Unplug it, let it cool, and check the plug, socket and any extension lead. If the fault continues, stop using it and contact the seller's support team — see the troubleshooting section below.

›

When should I stop using the heater altogether?

Stop immediately if you notice scorch marks, a burning smell beyond initial new-element odour, a damaged cable or plug, unusual noise, or if it's been dropped or exposed to water.
